Project Delivery Methods
August, 2021 – Guy Thorpe – (2 min read)
How often is an organisations chosen project delivery method thrown out, as it’s perceived as “not working” with little thought given to the competence of those using it?
In many cases, the delivery method may actually be perfectly suited to the type of project delivery and the organisations sector.
Perhaps digging a little deeper may reveal that the initial upskilling was insufficient, a lack of support from middle-management meant ongoing training opportunities were limited or key capability gaps haven’t been properly filled.
In the ever-increasing rush to deliver, organisations are discarding perfectly good delivery methods in the chase for the next sliver delivery bullet.
In many instances a renewed focus on building people’s capability and competence with their existing delivery approach would be a better investment.
